Things to Do in Mostar: A Local Map Preview

Mostar is easy to walk, but it is easy to plan badly. The Old Bridge matters, but the city also opens up toward Spanish Square, local cafes, restaurants, parks, and everyday streets beyond the old town.

These are a few public stops from the planning style behind MapGem. The full map keeps the complete pin list and notes in Google Maps.

1. Start here

Spanish Square

Start or finish around Spanish Square if you want to see more than the old town. It connects naturally toward cafes, parks, restaurants, and the wider city.

MapGem uses it as a practical route anchor, not just a square to pass through.

2. Old town

Stari Most and the lower photo spots

See the bridge, but do not stop at the bridge. The beach below and nearby photo points give a different view with less pressure.

Useful with nearby viewpoints, coffee, and the next walking stop.

3. Viewpoint + coffee

Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque and nearby coffee

The minaret is one of the classic views over Stari Most. Nearby Cafe Šećerluk is a relaxed, reasonably priced place for coffee and photos when it is open.

Best saved with a backup view stop and a cafe pin, not as one isolated attraction.

4. Local pause

Park Zrinjevac, Park Trimuša, and Partisan Memorial Cemetery

Use a park break if you want shade, a calmer local rhythm, or somewhere to reset before food and coffee. Park Trimuša also pairs well with the nearby Partisan Memorial Cemetery.

The full map separates quick sights from places that are good for slowing down.

5. Food + evening

Food and drinks beyond the old town

Places like 88brunch&bar, Tecó, Bazza, OKC Abrašević, and Von Herzog show a different side of Mostar than the main tourist streets.

Useful when you want locals, students, better value, or a less touristy evening plan.

Local planning notes

These are the kind of practical details that make a map more useful than a saved list of random places.

  • Keep some KM cash for smaller stops, but many places also accept euros. Ask before paying.
  • Use hot midday hours for food, coffee, or shade.
  • Give Mostar one evening if you can. The best plan is often outside the most crowded old-town streets.
